Every person involved in Internet marketing needs some kind of autoresponder. It is a proven fact that a potential customer or clients will most of the time only purchase a product or join an opportunity after receiving a few informative follow-up emails. For this reason I would suggest getting a professional autoresponder. You can get a lot of free utoresponders but this will not give you enough flexibility to utilise this marketing tool to it’s full potential. The first question most of you will ask is what is it going to cost to get a professional autoresponder. Now for the good news! You can get an autoresponder under GPL Licensed for free. It’s perfect for lead generation, email courses, newsletters and other email campaigns. But best of all… it’s free! Infinite Responder is an autoresponder & newsletter hybrid that allows you to send as many messages, as many emails to as many lists as you want. It can behave as both a sequential autoresponder and a newsletter mailer. The only requirement to get this completely customisable free self-hosted autoresponder script is to get your own website. It makes financially sense to get yourself a hosting package and domain for under $10 per month. It will cost you a lot more per month to subscribe to a professional autoresponder service. I can tell you from experience and changing from 2 previous subscription based autoresponders that you will lose your list of leads the moment you move to a new autoresponder. You can download the leads but at the new autoresponder service they will require you to get the leads to opt in again. You will lose a great percentage of leads deciding not to opt in again. Requirements of hosting package for use with Infinite Responder: * A web server (Apache or IIS) * PHP 4.3 or greater (the 5.x series seems to work fine) * MySQL 4 or greater (MySQL 5 is highly recommended) * IMAP library is required for bounce and mail checking * Crontab for scheduled mail sending Most of the hosting packages available will have this pre-installed for you. Installation is pretty easy, but if you’re not techie you might find the upload process or database setup a bit daunting. If you need help the autoresponder can be installed for you.
